Metamorphosis
Matchbook Marketing Instazine
Role
Creative Director, Project Supervisor
Duration
January – April 2023
Every spring, Matchbook Marketing creates a mini magazine that highlights the theme of the agency’s work through visual content and curated writing pieces. This publication is the ultimate form of creative freedom — and it’s crucial to our organization’s future. The zine shows off our org’s capabilities to current and future clients, builds awareness of our agency in the community and leads to a rise in new member applications in the following year.
At the beginning of the semester, we dove into the many problems young creatives are facing. AI art, social media, imperfection in our work — you name it, we talked about it. Ultimately, we decided to focus on something we could all relate to: the struggles of the creative process.
Entitled “Metamorphosis,” the 2023 Instazine explored what it means to embrace the change that comes with creativity and pushed readers to appreciate the process over the product. As a student marketing agency, Matchbook aims to create a space where our members can analyze the creative industries and expand their artistic identity.
